Twinstar: Mirror Comets is a mobile game published by Twinstar: Mirror Comets Games. The core game is
designed to be playable fully offline, and we operate no game servers
that store your personal data. Optional features — online 1 v 1
multiplayer and cloud save — rely on Google and a network-relay
provider, and are described below. This page covers the limited
categories of data processed by the third-party services we integrate
with, what they are used for, and how to opt out.
Data we collect
-
Google Play Games Services (leaderboards)
If you choose to sign in to Google Play Games, Google processes your Play Games
player ID, your gamer profile (such as your display name), and the game scores you
submit, in order to provide global leaderboards. This data is handled by Google, not
by us — we never receive your Google account email or password. Only your score is
submitted; your local game progress (stars, skins) is not uploaded. Signing in is
optional, and the game is fully playable without it.
-
Advertising ID — a resettable, device-level
identifier provided by your operating system. It is used by Google
AdMob to serve advertisements inside the game and, with your
explicit consent, to personalize those advertisements. You can
reset this identifier or opt out of personalized advertising at
any time from your device settings (on Android:
Settings → Google → Ads).
-
Crash and performance reports — when the game
crashes or behaves abnormally, anonymous diagnostic data
(device model, OS version, stack traces) may be sent to Google
Play Console. We use this data exclusively to improve game
stability. It cannot be used to identify you.
-
Online multiplayer (IP address & connection data)
— if you choose to play an online 1 v 1 match, your device
establishes a direct peer-to-peer connection with your opponent's
device using WebRTC. To set up that connection, your public
IP address and network "candidate" information are
exchanged with the other player and processed by connection-helper
servers (Google STUN and a third-party TURN relay provider, such as
Open Relay or ExpressTURN). When a
direct connection is not possible, gameplay traffic is relayed through
the TURN provider. We use Google Firebase only to coordinate the
initial handshake (an anonymous, temporary session identifier and the
connection details), which is deleted once the match connects. No
score, purchase, or account data is involved in multiplayer, and no
gameplay data is stored on our servers. This feature is used only when
you start an online match.
-
Cloud save (game progress) — if you are signed in to
Google Play Games, your in-game progress (best scores, unlocked and
owned skins, star balance, and settings) is saved to Google Play Games
"Saved Games" (Snapshots), tied to your Google account, so it survives
reinstalls and syncs across your devices. This data is stored by Google,
not by us. Cloud save is disabled if you do not sign in to Google Play
Games; in that case progress is kept only on your device.
Data we do not collect
We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, precise
(GPS) location, photos, contacts, microphone or camera input, or any
similar personally identifiable information. We do not receive your
Google account email or password. The only network identifier involved
is your IP address, and only during an online multiplayer match as
described above — it is used solely to establish the connection and is
not stored by us. The game does not require an account and the
single-player experience is fully functional offline (advertisements
aside).
Third-party services
-
Google AdMob — serves advertisements inside
the game. See
Google's ad technologies policy.
-
Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) —
presents a consent form for personalized advertising in regions
where required (EU, EEA, UK, Switzerland, and others). Your choice
is stored on-device and respected by AdMob.
-
Google Play Services — provides crash
reporting and game distribution infrastructure. See
Google's privacy policy.
-
Google Play Games Services — optional sign-in,
global leaderboards, and cloud save (Saved Games / Snapshots).
Governed by the
Google Privacy Policy.
-
Google Firebase — used only to coordinate the
connection handshake for online multiplayer (temporary anonymous
session and connection details, deleted on connect). See
Firebase's privacy and security information.
-
TURN relay (network relay) — a third-party
STUN/TURN provider (such as Open Relay or ExpressTURN) that helps
establish, and where necessary relays, the peer-to-peer connection
between players during an online match.
Children
Twinstar: Mirror Comets is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the
equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly
collect or process data from children. If you believe a child has
provided us with information through one of the third-party services
above, please contact us and we will work with the relevant service
to address it.
Data retention and deletion
Because we do not store user data on our own servers, there is
nothing for us to retain or delete on your behalf. To remove all
game data from your device, uninstall the application. Cloud-saved
progress and leaderboard data are held by Google Play Games and can be
deleted from your
Google Play Games settings
(delete game data). The multiplayer connection handshake is deleted
automatically once a match connects and is not retained. To reset the
Advertising ID, use your device settings as described above. For
data held by Google (AdMob, Play Services, Firebase), please refer to
Google's data & privacy controls.
Game progress and responsibility
Your in-game progress — including stars, scores, and unlocked or
purchased skins — is stored on your device and, when you are signed
in to Google Play Games, backed up to your Google account via Google Play
Games "Saved Games" (Snapshots). We do not run our own progress servers;
this backup is provided and controlled entirely by Google Play Games.
Because saving and syncing depend on Google Play services, your device,
and your Google account, we cannot guarantee that progress will never be
lost. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no responsibility
or liability for any loss, reset, or corruption of stars, scores, skins,
or other in-game progress — including, without limitation, cases
caused by reinstalling the game, switching or resetting devices, signing
out of Google Play Games, clearing app data, or interruptions to Google
services. The game is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We
strongly recommend signing in to Google Play Games so your progress is
backed up to your Google account.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to how the game handles data, we will
update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. We
encourage you to review this policy periodically.
